 Plastic-impregnated
Alexandrov
White Opal has bluish, greenish, pink
and iridescent shades.
The content of silica is 84-86%; polymer and water - 16-14%.
I.R. - 1.45; H – 4.0; D – 1.9-2.0
Polymer-impregnated
Multicolored Opals have a wide range of body colors (13-15) and
show play-of color. The main colors are blue, green, red, orange,
pink and white. The chemical composition is: silica - 70%-80%; polymer
- 20%-30%.
I.R. - 1.455-1.47; H - 4.0; D - 1.9 See the image

Materials are unaffected by detergents, seawater,
acetone, etc. Available in irregular shape pieces weighting 10-50
Car. (up to 200 gr. slabs for Polymer-impregnated Multicolored Opals).
Requires the same gently cabbing as the Genuine Opal. |
